What kind of metal? I've been researching metal amps exstensivly for the last month, so I've learnt about millions, lol. This myt help --> http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/guitars/12-best-amps-for-heavy-metal-222150. I'm liking the look of the Hughes and Kettner Triamp MkII head

There are tons of options for that price!

I think you'll have to decide if you want the sound more towards American/Rectifier or British/Marschall style.

I like
Marshall JVM410
Orange Rockerverb
Engl Invader
Mesa Dual Rectifier
Peavey 6534+

Some of these are cheaper than 2000£, but I wouldn't rule them out based on that.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

Check out the Diezel VH 4 --> http://www.musicradar.com/gear/all/amplification/instrument-amps/guitar-amp-heads/vh4-amplifier-head-220317/review It looks like this amp has an unbeatable metal tone, judging

Ill build you a SLO!

its like a tighter cleaner & more awesome 5150 only a heck of a lot more  versatile

slightly less gain though but nothing noticeable

if I was spending £2k on another company's amp and wanted to play metal, I'd be buying a Diezel VH4 (assuming you can get them for that kinda price).

I wouldnt say im building them to sell.

Ive just built a good few for friends.

its going pretty well but im tweaking circuits a lot more and making it more me now i dont want to be making money just selling other peoples designs .

But at the end of the day its just a hobby really alongside my job!

My current build takes a lot of influence from the Splawn Nitro & the SLO im just waiting on some parts to finish it off

Its possible but have you played a SLO? they have so much mids & gain that they can grind and be dirty as far as you want stock!.

I run it for 80s-modern thrash with the gain on 2 on the lead channel

I actually never tried a slo :) I would really like to :)

The amp sound i would kill my own children for would be the Fortin Natas.. Such a metallic, sharp yet not fizzy sound!
