I live in Brighton and I'm sure I know the 'old dude' you're talking about. He claims to be an expert in valve amps but he's a liar and a fraud who has damaged amps belonging of many friends of mine. He 'repaired' a 4 way Laney footswitch for me, lied repeatedly about waiting for delivery of some 'heavy duty' switches, eventually installed the cheapest switches available, charged me a fortune and they all cr@pped out within a couple of months. I can't remember his name but if you ever come across an old amp repair guy in Brighton, take no chances - run!!

I also live in Brighton and am looking to get this very amp fixed up as it's got a few issues, I was going to take it to a place called Dotworks in Hove that was recommended to me, just wanted to check if you knew if this was the guy you've had a bad experience with or not?

Cheers
