It's always been my impression that the PRS tremolo is probably the best unit out there for people who don't usually like tremolos... if you see what I mean.

I'll agree with this. The 6 point PRS trem on my CU22 is my fave trem unit of anything I have.

+1 - And they stay in tune very well. Only gripe is that they seem to almost weld the springs into the trem block. I would like to fit a Tremol-No on my Studio but can't budge the springs out of the block.

Sounds like I am too late...

I was going to suggest one of these:

In action:

Worth watching just to hear one of the guitarists trying to string two words together!

I'm sure those are great guitars, but..... I can't understand why they've stripped away so many of the features which make the SG2000 so distinctive (ebony board, through-neck, proprietary hardware and pickups etc).  And then they charge extra for it!
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

Phil - I agree - the originals were stunning guitars. Mind you, I am sure that the fact that Phil X also plays one is not a plus factor either!

:-)

Mike

PS - I use to play in guitar workshops with one of the guys in the Treatment (on the left) - really good player even when he was a teenager

Oh god yes, I'd forgotten Mr X has been using them!  :o

I do still want an SG2000, one day.

I've considered one in the past but think that the weight and price would put me off now. If I did ever go for one I would go for a P90d model.
I think I hate being indecisive.

I had an old SG700 in winered. Sounds great (coilsplit too), weighs a ton and therefore not a guitar I would/could play the whole gig (which in my band is usually 3 to 3,5 hours). Nevertheless, great guitar with superb acces to the higher frets.

I've just realised that up to now I've broken "Fernando's law" - here's a pic to show it DID happen  ;)

I've got to say this is a very good guitar.  Very good indeed...

Well you seem to like 'em so where's the harm?

That's a very pretty guitar. I do like a Gold Top. The DGTs and McCarty's are the PRSs that turn my head most I think and I do like Mr Grissom's tone a lot.

Yeah, he's a superb player.  Clearly deserves his place as one of the top Nashville guys.

Nothing wrong with that, although it is an expensive business!

I'm quite relieved that my GAS only runs to the cheaper PRS models.... although I seem to be creeping ever closer to that dangerous £2k mark with some of my more recent guitar acquisitions.
