looks great mate, how much does a full SLO build end up costing? - are you getting the headshells from the same source as the SLO kit?

I got the headshell from the same place as i got the chassis c3amps.

This one ended up being around£550-600 if i remember rightly with the hi def trannies but i got some good deals.

If you are looking at doing one there is a guy selling some fully populated pcbs and one of the 100w c3 chassis for £110 on the slo clone forums

I've found some alternative transformers i am thinking of trying in my next amp taht are £170 for the set

whats the deal with the 'high def' trannies ???? - I'm assuming they're something along the lines of the old Partridge OTs with a flatter and extended frequency response in the lows and highs (rather than the rolloff you usually get with Drake-type OTs).

Hammond OTs would likely be a good choice to use if you want flat and wide frequency response.

Thats pretty much it they have a much cleaner & tighter low & high frequency response.

A lot of people do use hammonds for the builds but heyboer come very high and Onetics are like a souped up version of whats in the real SLO.

I am thinking of using some IG precisions transformers which are replicas of the original Deyoungs and are £170 for the PT,OT & choke and they look really slick too

£170 for the full transformer set ain't too bad, they do look sharp too.

Those are basically Shinrock transformers with his new company name - I've had his stuff before, very nice.
