Cheers matey - when do you get your Tele hybrid?

A quick review:

She is an absolute stunner, and after some time with her I'm made up she turned out so well!

I thought she'd have a job being the equal of my Modern Eagle, but blow me if she doesn't better her and raise the bar!  Fantastic clarity, loads of punch, warm yet defined bottom and and a lovely 7.5lb-ish weight.  In contrast my DGT is a little heavier, probably just under 8lbs, and the Eagle is around 8.5lbs.

Surely it can't get any better than this?  The single coil switching can be subtle, depending how much gain you have dialed in, so in that respect they're proper single coils.  No volume drop, just the tonal change you would expect.  Really, really impressive.

The whole guitar resonates while you play more than anything I've ever played before, and single notes just ring and sing and ring and sing...

I foresee us having a VERY long and happy future together!

Sounds awesome!

But knowing your cutthroat approach to guitar collecting ( ), I'm starting to fear for the future of the ME!

No - I would bet the DGT will go first  :D

Nah, the ME is safe.  It has way too much of my DNA in it now.  It's nicely different in tone, and feels like a comfy pair of trainers  :)

The DGT is the best gigging substitute I've yet tried.  If the trem starts to annoy me, that'll be the reason to move it on...

I hope you keep them all a while.  The ins and outs of your guitar collection are as head-spinning as mine*.  I feel like I need a bit of stability in my BKP forum environment.

(* That said, I am contemplating a relatively major clearout exercise next week.  Not really reducing the numbers overall, but I seem to have absolutely no immunity to GAS at the moment.  Gotta fund it somehow.  :| )

Glad to hear it exceeded my expectations!   And as you know your PRS's I thrilled it's as good as you say. You know you say the ME is like an old pair of trainers right? Well, listen to this... that's exactly how I imagined that guitar! I want one of those... I want to gig the cr@p out of it whilst wearing my faded Levi's, T shirt and worn Addidas SL76's and not really giving a shite about anything else!  Good for you Dave, all the best to you and your guitars!

Sounds exciting... How many lorrys are you using to send them to the buyers?

Looks really good the new guitar, Dave. Is this pickup a double-tele pickup??

I foresee us having a VERY long and happy future together!

You do start out with the best of intentions and we all love to see the pictures of the big day, hopefully one or two of you together...

But then you love em and leave them.

Where have we seen that before... Mmmm?

Are you gonna do a shoot for Hello?

Probably none, because I'm not expecting any buyers prepared to pay a decent price (not letting anything go for peanuts like the last few I've sold!)

it sounds wonderful Dave, i wouldn't judge it against the M.E. until you've lived with it a while though ;)  for some reason, i hope you end up preferring the Eagle, just because it's lovely

Looks really good the new guitar, Dave. Is this pickup a double-tele pickup??

It's a "normal" humbucker, just with bigger coils  :)

Yes, that was what I ask, the tele bridge pu is bigger than the strat and humbuckers coil... Like a lot this idea :)
How does it sound?

I'll need to get some good pics using Mrs Twinfan's SLR, but here are a few I've just grabbed now with my phone:

The high gloss nitro glistening in the sun:

The PS Eagle headstock with Signature banner:

The new mammoth ivory outlined birds and the really dark/smooth Indian rosewood board:

Side view showing the top/back contrast:

The back is vintage natural with subtle figuring all over it:

Another of the back showing the way the thin finish has sunk into the grain (as on my Modern Eagle):

Detail of the top colour and the stains:

My favourite visual feature, the mineral streaks near the mini-toggles:

The tasty 408 pickups:

She's not a bad looker and she sounds as good as she looks!

i don't mean to be vulgar, but "gulp" i just saw how much one of these costs.  it better be good!  :)  it looks truly spectacular.  i still prefer the M.E.'s look myself, it just looks like it came from the 50's, this is like a modern version.  i wish i owned something with Mammoth ivory on it :)
stupid mammoth, going extinct :(
