Ukulele cover song
« on: October 24, 2011, 10:32:55 AM »
I was at a bit of a loose end this weekend so made a little cover version of one of favourite Jimmy Eat World songs & to make it a bit more of a challenge I decided to use the ukulele I very rarely play.

YouTube video of me & my uke right here

On a related note, I know nothing about strings for the ukulele.  Any good brands to try?  I think it came with D'Addarios on it, but they've been on for a couple of years now & could probably do with changing.

Thanks man, it was fun to make (well the video editing not so much, that was a bit of a pain.  I think I need a better program for that).

That was very refreshing. Good singing too. You've encouraged me to break out my little babe again.

Oh fancy, it looks like a little baby Ovation guitar.  :)

Hehe, I liked that.

I somehow ended up playing with a Uke orchestra at my mate's 40th bash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPpo7UTziHo

Somehow I look almost sober (I'm the one wearing the Overkill shirt and cowboy hat), but I can't work out why considering how I felt the following day.

Thanks man.  You guys look like you're having a lot of fun at your mate's 40th.

I watched Frank Skinner's program on George Formby on iplayer last night. Then I went on to Youtube checking uke lessons in that style. The man had some insanely brilliant right hand techniques and I'm tempted to go on a GF journey. His songs are so catchy and funny with marvelous synchopation.
