Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout is my favourite beer and the last thing I would want to taste if I knew my last breath would follow soon after...

Nectar.

BTW I also like an afternoon sitting in the park with a 2ltr bottle of Ice White cider before urinating in plain sight of the school girls on their way home.... THEY LOVE IT, THE LITTLE SHLAGGGS!!

here in Ireland, micro/local breweries are virtually non existent.  there actually is one about 12 miles from me that does lovely beers, but not one pub within 30 miles stocks it!  basically, the pubs here do Guinness, Bass or Smithwicks, Harp or Tennants, and usually Carlsberg or Budweiser.  that's about it.  the only place i can get any faintly unusual beers is, slightly bizarrely, Tesco or Sainsbury.  even with such a small variety, most of the pubs do absolutely awful pints.  tastes like neat alcohol in dyed water!

whenever i go over to England i always try as many of the local brews as i can.  always enjoy that :)

It's getting a little better, but you're pretty much bang on. Have you tried any of the Strangford or Whitewater Beers? Whitewater are actually in the process of making a signature beer for my work, which is nice.

Whitewater is the one near me!  :)  you can get their bottled beers in tesco and a couple of other supermarkets.  i love the Clotworthy Dobbin, but it blows my head off if i drink it all night.  the Belfast black is quite good too.  i think there are some pubs up around Lisburn and Belfast that have them on draught, but i've never been to any.  i'm intrigued by this signature beer  8)

haven't tried Strangford, but i'll have a look for it
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!
