Hey all, I was thinking today about some of the bits and bobs I have laying around, for example I have a Mahogany body I started building a long time ago that I never got around to completing. I thought about making my own Baritone, but couldn't afford a fancy new (or even a used) neck. So I got to thinking (hah, here we go!)...
What if I bought a cheapo short-scale Bass neck, filled the tuner holes and sealed them with wood and a good, strong glue, then cut a custom nut... do you think this would be a viable plan to make myself a ratty-but-functional 30.5 inch neck? I was just going to modify the neck pocket on this piece of junk body I have, fill and re-route the pick-up holes and reposition the bridge, see what kind of monster I could come up with. I have loads of parts laying around to build this, and a few cans of paint so, eventually, nobody would be able to see where I had chop-shopped the parts, heh.
Opinions?
