NGD - BEHOLD THE ULTRAVIOLET V80
« on: November 10, 2011, 11:36:08 AM »

Another in our range of V variations ( we seem to have more than Rudolph Schenker :o)

Here we have a 2 piece mahogany body , mated to a 3 piece quarter-sawn mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard
24.75" scale with Dunlop 6000 fretwire

Hardware:
Sperzel locking tuners
Earvana Nut
Tonepros tunamatic
Lightweight aluminium tailpiece locked in with Tonepros studs (the ones that clamp the tailpiece down)

Pickups:
BKP Cold Sweat (one of my fave  for V and Explorer guitars)
Controls are BKP 550k pots and a BKP/Jensen capacitor

Finish:
This was something we worked hard to get the way I wanted it to look
I was going for that look you get from a UV/blacklight tube where you have a violet colour but with a surrounding haze of almost blue.
We used a metallic purple base over which we put a blue flip flop  tint
The effect changes as you move the guitar - subtle but effective

Yes - the jack socket is in the upper fin
There is also a secret recessed Dunlop straplock button inside the fin as well - for great strap positioning

very nice :D

but can it go into the arena and rock you like a hurricane?

(by the way, colour is great - you've really captured it in your photos)

Yeah, I decided not to bother but you've done it for me anyway!

We must have similar settings to block certain types of links....

Anyway, I shall just have to be patient.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I can't see the pics at work either. Off out tonight as well so will not get the chance to look until Friday!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Very nice, though I'm personally not a purple-addict. Suits this guitar well though.

looks great, but I'd prefer neck binding (actually binding all round the body would be my preference).

love the colour, really unusual and striking.

Wow! That's a very striking shade of violet, very nice work! Another visually stunning piece of work from your good self, heh.

that is incredible.

Jonathan can you PM me with the kinda pricing id be looking at for one of these with a 26.5" scale and also if there are any difference in costs for alternate colours etc.

I've got to start taking this custom idea seriously!
