brutal Chris amott Solo at 3 min mark - Loving this tone, which I can't get with my current coldsweat neck (in mahogany V, I don't believe it is articulate enough, too smooth), I was thinking nailbomb neck? any other recommendations? aftermath neck?

i've intentionally left out MM, HD, CS and PK which I already have.

perhaps he's using both neck and bridge pickups
but the neck nailbomb alone does have that sort of picking attack

yeah i know the feeling, i think i would love machine head and foo fighters but no matter how hard i try, i cannot like the vocal tones of flynn and grohl!

yeah in the guitar of interest i have a cs neck with a cbomb bridge, but for my needs the cs is 'under powered' and too smooth, 'polite' if you will, and lacks that picking attack (sort of the opposite to the PK neck) I can get closer to this tone with HD neck and MM neck, although the latter i find too scooped and compressed...the search continues...I'm dying to try a NB neck so i think I'll have to pull the trigger soon!

I am very impressed with the Nailbomb neck pickup. The bridge pickup is a bit contemporary for my taste, but the neck pickup is killer.

+1 for the Nailbomb neck, it has a really "vocal" quality to the mids that would work really well for Michael Amott's tone
