Like I've said elsewhere, the Nailbombs in my Les Paul Traditional are a bit too modern for my tastes.
Quick reminder : I play old school heavy metal and hard rock.
I've been pondering replacements, and I've got three candidates left.
Cold Sweat. This seems to be the go-to pickup for Les Pauls in my style.
Afraid it may lack some warmth. Not sure about the midrange scoop.
Emerald. A balanced, hotter than vintage pickup that seems to capture classic Les Paul tone.
Afraid it may lack punch and bottom end.
Black Dog. This one looks like it will preserve most of the classic Les Paul character.
Afraid it may be too dark and lack punch.
So... one last time if you don't mind... Recommendations.
Please keep it limited to these three, I don't need more confusion ;)
