How much do UK customs charge (%) if you get Warmoth shipped to the UK?

Typically 3% + VAT, plus a "handling charge" of between £7 and £17 from the courier/ Royal Mail .

The VAT is 20%, Fernando, so total import charges are close to 25% of the original price.

What would it cost you in Brazil?

I worked with a fellow from Uruguay. He said import taxes were at least half of the declared value and more if the person collecting was an extra dirty and corrupt SOB. He claimed it was less expensive to have a custom made vs a Mexi Jazz Bass. Is it a similar situation in Brazil?

[(price + shipping cost x 60%) + (price + shipping cost x 18%)]

[(500+80 x 60%) + (500 + 80 x 18%)] = [348 x 62] = 410

60% is the importation tax and 18% is the tax for manufactured goods...

It must suck to pay a lot of tax and getting little to nothing in return. Luckily I think I get a lot in return for my tax money (I didn't mean to ruin your day, Fernando  :))

This may be a silly question but hey, I actually don't have a clue.

Say your total from Warmoth comes to $900. Obviously on top of that is delivery. Do you pay customs tax on the price of the items with the delivery charge included or not?

Confusingly, I believe you only pay import duty on the actual item, but you pay VAT on the total.

So I take it you'll pay 20% of the Total inc. P&P. And then just a small amount for the Import Duty?
