Thanks for the comments guys.

We're going ahead with it. Aside from anything else a ~1:1:1 split yes/no/maybe (albeit with a very small sample size) is pretty good, and that its optional and we'd both still operate independently means theres nothing to lose, but it has the chance of pulling in clients that might not have gone with either of us.

I am a bit late on this one Mark but I like the idea. I have voted "don't know" because I would say much the same as Andrew. A band like mine, for example, would probably benefit because none of us have the wit/ability to create a package. We have recently recorded a promo cd to get us work (which is becoming increasingly difficult unfortunately) and we used a proper studio for the recording but one of the guys did a half decent job of a sleeve and we used pictures from live gigs but we are only too aware that professional input would help though having said that, in our case we are mailing cds to venues/enquirers. The former probably don't even bother looking at the package and the latter are interested in price. I think, though, that if I was in a "lets be famous" band, I'd want the best recording/phos/graphic design package that would help get me noticed etc. A bit of a non event answer ( I specialise in them by the way).

My friend does this minus the graphic design element in the North East.
