NPD - BKP PK+VHII Tyger
« on: December 07, 2011, 07:31:32 AM »
just got new pickups. I was satisfied with the sound but not with the look of guitar, so I ordered PK and VHII in tyger covers and a guy, who built the guitar for me about two years ago, did ebony binding on body and rosewood pickup rings for me  :)

That guitar looks absolutly stunning. Amazing...and it even makes me like the tyger and normally I donīt really.
That wood and the binding is just beautiful. I want that axe so bad right now itīs not even funny.

Nice photographing too.

How do you like the sound?

sound's amazing, I play mainly metal and guitar sounds fat, tight and PK in the bridge was perfect match for rhythm metal playing. for everything else I need - leads, cleans; there is VHII in the neck position which I absolutely love. Before, I had the same set but in open coils finish, I think I don't need to say more how I'm satisfied when I took the same set again :)

here is the last mod I did. 2 way mini switch, it split coils on VHII, because I love it in both modes. now I can easily play heavy stuff on the bridge pickup, then flip to the VHII in single coil mode, turn the volume down a little bit and voilà - I have a clean sound :)

I'm just thinking only about one thing. replace the pickup selector switch with 3 way on/off/on switch. I don't use middle position but then I could use middle position for kill switch effect. hmmmm.. Am I crazy or just evil?

That would be rather evil than crazy! But then I don't use the middle position much either so go for it!

Cheers Stephan
