Newbie needs some advice for his H-H Strat!

Hey guys. I'm looking to replace the bridge pickup in my G&L Legacy HB2. It has an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard and a hardtail bridge. I play 1990s punk such as (old school) Blink 182, NOFX, Screeching Weasel, Strung Out, Descendents, etc. I'm looking for something w/a generous serving of gain but nothing too crazy -- I won't be playing any death metal or whatnot but nonetheless I need something with balls. And since it's a Strat, I think it'd be best if the pickup isn't too trebly.
My amp setup is Boogie Mark V plugged into a Recto 2x12 w/V30s. I dunno if it's relevant but I play entirely in Standard Tuning.

Also, please specify if I should go for the Alnico or Ceramic versions and explain why, too please. Thanks guys!

Holy Divers delivers in strats. A tad more vintage sounding but balanced and beefy: Crawler.

Cool man, thanks for the quick reply! How would you feel about the Nailbomb? Or rather, do you think a Nailbomb be a good match for a Strat? I really love the sound of the upper-mids in the Hair Metal clip.

It certainly has enough mids and bass, but is brighter in the upperregister. It's also reckoned to be a bit more fizzy (say more 90's-metal tone). I think Divers round out an alder bolt-on-guitar, but that doesn't say an alnico NB should not work. It's a matter of taste. The Diver excels in thick solotones, the Nailbomb could be a tad better one for riffing and chordplaying. The NB is more agressive then the HD.

This bit I like because but I'm not much of a soloist; "lead playing" in SoCal punk contains a lot of octaves and single-string riffs. Think intro riff from Thunderstruck on the A-string in a more major-sounding key. But do you think this pickup would be a tad too bright for my guitar? Obviously my Boogie's EQ can cure some of that as well.

I don't think it will be overly bright. They work quite well in bolt-on guitars. I just wanted to emphasize that they are different voiced. You can always send a mail to the BKP-team for a recommendation.

(Btw, scatterwoundpickups are sensitive to height. Experiment a bit to find the sweet spot on your guitar).

Invader is ceramic with lots of mids and smooth highs, so low on the treble. Eq-wise Holy Divers come close, but they are alnico. In character maybe an Aftermath or ceramic Nailbomb.
