P90 suggestions for LP Junior
« on: December 26, 2011, 06:00:04 PM »
I am looking for some insperation to help me decide on a new BKP P90 pup for my new Gison LP Junior  :)
Mahogany body and neck with Obeche fretboard. (whatever that is !)

The guitar will be/is used for playing Blues and Blues/Rock.
The Gison P90 seems OK, but I can't help feeling that I could get 'better' 'bluesier' 'cleaner' performance from a BKP !

I am using the Junior through an Orange Little Terror amp head, into a Jenson Vintage equipped 2x12 cab.
The only 'effect' at the moment is plate reverb from a Digitech pedal in the send/return circuit of the Terror.

The pups I am trying to decide between are The Nantucket 90 and The Blue Note 90.
Do you think I am on the right track, or is there perhaps another alternative ?

Both will do. If you want a cleaner, softer sound with chime take the Blue Note, for a more raw approach the Nantucket. I don't see alternatives for blues/rock.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
