Tele bridge match for my MQ
« on: January 15, 2012, 08:24:42 AM »
I'm looking for suggestions for a bridge pick up for my Tele to make a good match with the MQ I have in the neck.  I'm after something more warmer and rounded in tone, more rock than country twang.  Am thinking along the lines of a BG50 or a Boss, thinking the piledriver will be too much.    The Tele has a maple neck and mahogany body. Cheers?

I think the BG50 would work well with that.

Perhaps. It's powerful and thick. Since the body is mahogany you might want to consider the BG52-bridge too, for a balanced spectrum. The BG50 has quite some mids and bass, where the BG52 has more treble, but this one darkens and gets full as soon you turn the toneknob a tad back. The BG52 has already a meaty tone.
The Boss could be the one for you too. If has serious bass and a bit more compression.

Thanks for the comments guys.  How would you describe the differences between the BG50 and the Boss? I think it's going to be one or the other. Cheers
