The RYs will be available with this custom finish and, if we can swing it, custom purple bobbins too!
The Raygun is Steve's own design. 8)

If/when I get some new pickups, I'm thinking about having pinstripes engraved on them.

I cannot wait to get hold some of these pickups! I saw Steve playing twice during the UK shows ( a long term fan ) and his sound is incredible. I assume his pickups were bare knuckle.

The Raygun pic is also used on his plectrums. It stems from his passion for old Sci-Fi movies and his raygun guitar sound (trick) he used on Rebel Yell, Dirty Diana and a few of his solo works.

When will these pickups be purchasable?

p.s great site by the way, glad I found it. Hello to all.

hay people this is my first entery here i acctualy registerd just for this post you see i saw this link from stevestevens.com and entered it to see the new pickups and i saw everyone asking about the ray gun well heres a bit of history for you ok i am 16 years old and for 16 and 9 months (in my mums belly lol) i have listend to BILLY IDOL and STEVE STEVENS so i know a bit of history coz im a huge fan ok here goes STEVE started playing guitar when he was about 7 he has played since he started doing gigs with bands when he was about 11 or 12 and whould be a regulare in pubs and clubs playing with bands from the age of about 13. he also has some sort of college thing that has to do with electrical stuff and he was always playing with his pickups and building new sounds in to them and the main way he could do this was to pull apart the toy ray guns that made all of the cool sounds and taking the sound chip out of them and wireing them in to his pickups and then he would hook them up some how to make the sounds come out on cue so he could hit a note then do something followed by an explosion, siren, alarm or another cool sound that the toy RAY GUNS made so he has always use the TOY RAY GUN as his signature that he is known for (by his fans at least) his ray gun is known just like slash from gunners top hat or fredy murcurys crown. so to answer your questions about the cool grafics on these humbuckers the ray gun is his signature     oh p.s. i just got off ebay...well my mum did lol but gave them to me, i have 4 steve stevens picks 2 are signature ones with the ray guns but 2 others have been used by him in concerts and have had the grafics on them worn in the way steve holds his pics how cool i love them and as proof steve is one of a handfull of people who hold a pick in that way he hold it sort of backwards and side on so its easy to get artifical harmonics and sounds out when he plays. so im never playing with them lol hay gues last thing go check out stevestevens.com and the first thing you should see is a rotating raygun and there is also some cool pics and dont forget to look at http://www.myspace.com/stevestevensguitar and listen to his songs. set me free has ray gun sounds in it and so does atomic playboys you cant miss them. ok guys have fun and dont forget to

....rock on....
i love steve and billy idol p.s. steve is my real idol

Hi all! I'm from Italy. I'd like to know what model is this Les Paul from Steve. I know it's customised from him, but the basic model is Standard?

Looks like a standard, as there is no diamond inlay in the headstock and no binding as well as no pearloid marker in the first fret.

So probably an LP standard painted towards custom look ?
