Carvin

Anybody ever played something with this system of nut, locking tuners and floyd? How does it work for tuning stability?
Carvins are tempting.

Ahh managed it, you have to log into Carvin, nd then Copy & paste the link. For systems like that, I recommend Graph Tech Black Tusq XL as the nut. It really lets your strings slide without catching, and provides  really smooth bending. I switched from Floyds to Wilkinsons about a year ago after playing one with the TUSQ XL nut and locking tuners :)

Carvins are cool guitars (I owned a DC135) but since changing their way of selling to those of us outside of the US I won't touch anything by them. They bumped up the prices but far too much because they decided that they didn't want to sell directly to non US customers and instead make you jump through hoops to by one through a dealer (if you can find one).

Well I have my Wilkinson Floating and it's very stable. Obviously a Floyd will give you a better pull up. Regarding a Floyd with the Graph Tech TUSQXL, I can imagine that it will be very stable in terms of tuning, but what I question is: If it's really as good, why do people still feel the need to lock it at the nut? It would really depend on how crazy you go with your bar lol. If you're going to go Satriani/Vai crazy, then I couldn't guarantee anything haha. But my Wilkinson is deinitely very stable so it probably could work :)
