I've never been convinced by 3 PUP LPs. For some reason it looks good on this guitar, is the back of the body longer on these than a LP? Somehow it looks more 'right' and less crowded than on a Gibson LP.

No photoshopping - I printed out onto paper Zebras from the BKP web page!  :lol:

I think it'll be good for the Open G stuff we do, it's a good rhythm tone with a bit of crunch.

I imagine the third pickup would get in the way, but the extra tonal possibilities are interesting, and they do look very cool - plus there's the Peter Frampton association, the Ace Frehley association, that Hendrix SG.... 8)

I would keep the covers on,it looks much better  8)!Btw,the classics'57's are supposed to be nice pu's .How do you like them in the SC CH ?It's a 25' scale but it should still sound more like a LP,no ?You could also put a '57+ for the bridge pu...it's hotter.

They sound like Classic '57s always do - nice enough for soft-in-the-bass blues tones.  They're just too warm, fuzzy and indistinct for my liking.

I had classic 57s in my 335. I'd agree with Dave in that they are great for bluesy tones, I think if I still had the 335 now I'd have swapped for something with a bit more bite.

I'm really struggling to decide what pickups to put in this SC.  I want something modern and non-PAF, so I think a ceramic in the bridge:

* Original 250 and #7, if I can get them?
* PRS Tremonti set?
* Nailbomb set?
* Painkiller bridge and Cold Sweat neck?

I'm thinking the latter at the moment...

I am late on this one but congrats Dave, it looks a pretty guitar to me. Lovely colour too. Interesting in what you think of the Classic 57's. I have them in my 339 and I am still enjoying the tones but I love the bluesy side of things but I'd agreed with your impressions.

Painkiller Bridge and Cold Sweat neck is a really good combo, I got Jon to fit them to my signature LP and was suprised at how versatile the PK is, sounds really good for heavy rock and blues with a bite!
