Clean Tones Of The Angels And Heaven Above

Ok, so I'm looking for single coils that can provide clean tones like the thread title so helpfully suggests  :D

I currently have an HSS set of Trilogies/Nailbomb (Alnico), and as much as I like the pickups, I think I need something a bit sweeter and more open. The Trilogies are just a little too compressed and dense for what I'm looking for. So basically my question is this:

Which of the Bare Knuckle single coils have you personally found to have the sweetest, purest clean tones? I'm just looking to hear what you all have found to be your go to clean single coils, and why you like them so much.

Thanks!

Apaches are sweet and pure. I have MM's and IT's. I like the MM's for the Frusciante-woodiness. Crispy, bright, woody, classic strattones. The IT's have more bass and juice, like an overwound MM. They're are gritty too and fatter then the MM's when pushed.

How well do the Apaches do with some gain? The cleans are the only important part, but it would be cool if I could still do some smooth leads with the neck pickup.

They handle gain with authority, don't worry. The BKP singlecoils take ampgain and pedals very well, without getting muddy or nasty.

Ok thanks, I appreciate the help. I think the Apaches are the ones.

Good choice! I hope you love them and I think you will. Fiddle with the height to find the sweet spots as scatterwound pickups are sensitive for the height.
