Made in UK, G12M, worth it?
« on: February 03, 2006, 04:55:34 PM »
Hi all

I have found a Celestion G12M Greenback made in UK (NOS never used still boxed) for 15$ less than what a new chinese Greenback costs

Its says Made in England on the plastic green ring of the magnet.

Is it a good deal? Is the speaker worth it for fitting in my Laney  LC30 combo to replace my Seventy-80? Is the "made in england" inscription on the green rim a sufficient indication for the UK-ness of the speaker? Will my amp blow it?

I need to know ASAP as its the last one in the shop.

If your amp is a 30 watt amp (I'm not familiar with the model) and only runs 1 speaker, it will blow it. Each G12M speaker is rated at 25w - your power handling would be (25 x number of speakers)w
