when you get it have a look for the little bug holes that have caused the orange streaks.

they are not a problem at all, but that is what causes the orange

Ok now you're just tying to freak me out  :o

I'm just kidding, that's actually really interesting. I'll let you know what I find

warmoth will have filled them - but you can usually find what looks like a small nail hole at one end of the streaks

its a pretty amazing colour change considering its just a little bug

Yeah now I'm going to obsess over that for the next few days and not actually have time to play guitar.

I'm thinking ebony over wenge, in fact there's a particularly nice one in the showcase for not too much money. The only thing is that it has mother of pearl inlays. If I were to get inlays, it would be those, but I think that with a body as nice as this one, the fretboard should be clean. What do you think, ebony over wenge with no inlays?

See, now here's the problem!

If it was me, I'd want a korina neck - ideally with some more orange streaks on the headstock - to match the look of the body.  Ebony yes (I think....), but not keen on the wenge, I think it's too dark next to the body.  I see where you're coming from with the white pearl dots, I don't think they match the golden tones of the korina.

Combining different woods is so tricky - if the different colour combinations clash or are just a bit off, I really can't live with it!

Sweet, merciful mother of our Lord Jesus Christ... If that guitar sounds even 10% as gorgeous as that piece of wood looks, then... Phwoaar!

That is a stunning body. Personally, I'd prefer it without the orange streaks - but they do look good.

And it's interesting hearing how they get there - make sure they bugs are all gone before you bring it indoors, your missus won't want them migrating to the woodwork in the house!!

i dont think they are like wood worm that feeds on dry wood... just one of the various insects that like to eat there way through live trees.  these trees just seem to react in a rather extravagant way.  The bugs wont still be in there ;)

anyway, if you want to see bug eaten

Part of the reason I like it is because it looks like war paint to me

Also, I think a guitar like this takes precedence over any possible damage to the walls  PDT_006

Yeah that's going to be a tough call. I'm nearly 100% sure the hardware is all going to be chrome, but I'm not so sure about the pickups. I think I might go chrome, and save the cream ones for a tobacco burst guitar down the line

I'm not usually in to them, but I'd consider wooden covers for that beast.

Love it BTW

Magnificent piece of wood. The covers should not distract the eye from the grain: black covers may be the best for this beauty.
