Hi BKP people!
I'm looking for kinda specific sound for my Les Paul Guitar - old, made in japan copy of Gibson LP Custom, full mahogany body and mahogany neck. I also have other mahogany/mahogany guitar, so information gathered here will be quite useful for that too.

I think this link here shows exactly what I'm looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH5zNQZz0jk#t=3m29s - it sounds fkn brutal and I love it!  Everything in this link is played in C standard with some kind of Mesa Dual Recto simulation. Guitar used here (ESP Horizon NTII) is made from mahogany with maple top and have mahogany neck (pretty same as my LP), everything powered by SD AHB2 Metal pickups. Of course I can use SD pickups, but I don't want to. Seriously, LP with EMG styled pickups? Totally disgusting.

My question is, what kind of BKP pickups I should use to get my kind of "brutal sound"? Of course I'm talking about bridge pickup. On my bridge pickup I'm usually playing rythm stuff, no leads.
For my neck pickup I want something for warm cleans and "liquid" leads.

Is it possible to make my dream come true? Help me BKP society!

P.S. Is there any "welcome" thread? It is actually my first post on forum...

Edit: I forgot to write, that I read lots of posts about LP style guitars, but I got no answers, only questions. Everyone is asking about vintage, rock etc stuff. I am asking about "the real deal", brutal metal sound , but not "dirty", no compromises (at least about bridge pickup).

Well, the usual answer for modern metal in general or "EMG-esque, but better" is the Miracle Man. This should deliver what you search for. Nice pinched harmonics, tight enough, juicy brutality all in all.

If you want brutal you could look at a Cpig or Painkiller too, but I recon nothing will get you as close as the MM, it just has what you need.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

I forgot to mention that, personally I hate EMG sound, especially 81. I will consider, all three pups you mentioned. Thanks :)

More info still welcomed :)

Do not get me wrong, the MM does not sound like an EMG at all, that would be an insult (compared to the MM, the 81 is, thin, brittle, has no character or soul, etc). I donīt wanne say that the EMG does not have itīs place too, but it really is a niche.
I might have chosen my wording wrong before. Let me try again
People look for certain things in a EMG, thats why they use it. The MM brings these things too, but in a another way. It speaks to the same basic idea of a sound, which is usually things like tight, fat, agressive, etc.
Black pepper in chilies are to very diffent things, yet they still bring heat.

The PK will probably be too try for you and the high mid spike is not optimal for you aswell I recon.
The Cpig, while brutal, is brutal in a different way, more crushing, too much bass for you I think.
The MM has a really nice lower mids, which are very important to you and most importantly, the propper character, tone signature if you will.

Hope this made my earlier points clearer.
Now letīs wait for all the people who know these PUs more than me.

What you described is a pickup with an Alnico II magnet. You can't get better...OJ.......lol

MIRACLE MAN ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!

Kiichi has a great point there abou the pickup choice.

MM neck also is great for liquid leads. I say go for it :)

Of all the bkp's i've owned, i least liked miracle man. If you want the big brutal sound, then pick the cpig
Your music will never be as hard as this!

I'm gonna get all King Solomon here and say you'll be very well off with either option. The C-pig is my personal favourite, though.

I think I'll go for Warpig for bridge, don't know which one though, I don't want it to have too much bass as long as my Uberschall(+UberCab) has too much bass and les pauls in general have lots of bass (correct me if I'm wrong  ). I also have Engl Powerball with Engl Pro Cab (v30).

I still don't know what I should use for neck. As I said, it doesn't have to be "brutal". I am looking for warm cleans (mostly) and good leads.

Well both Ceramic & Alnico are both gonna have insane amounts of bass in your setup. The Ceramic will cut through better, but I still think the bass is going to be extremely overpowering. It will feel very round in the top end also. I still still say the Miracle Man.
