Hi everyone,

So I'm trying to get some new pickups on my LP Studio, I play a lot of progressive metal and I want to get a powerful "djenty" tone but I also want to be able to switch to a full warm high gain lead sound for solos and such. I also want to be able to switch it up to blues and classic rock with a "dirty tone" from time to time but i do not have another decent guitar to work with so I have to choose a combination of pickups that work in both ends of the spectrum.
I'm thinking an aftermath in the bridge and a cold sweat in the neck would work fine, but I am not 100% sure. I am also considering just getting a pair of miracle man. Should I also consider the amp I mostly use when choosing a pick up ? If so, I use an Engl fireball 100 and orange cab.
What do you guys think ? Suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I am not an expert on these pickups by any means but I'll try and help.  I love the sound of the Cold Sweat in the neck, very glassy yet defined.  as For what you described you wanted to play I think the Aftermath, with its ceramic magnets, may be a little to Metal focused and Harsh to play blues.  Try taking a listen to the Alnico Nailbomb. It sounds like it can pull off the Djent sound pretty well and also has a more organic clean sound than the ceramic Aftermath.

Hope this was somewhat helpful

a fireball 100 should be djenty by itself (the 60, not so much)
the nailbomb sounds killer through engl type amps
maybe a rebel yell
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

The Nailbomb is very versatile. The ceramic version should be brighter and thighter, if you guitar needs that.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII
Past BKPS: Holy Diver, Trilogy Suite, Sinner, Black Dog

I agree with Eric - Alnico Nailbomb set or Rebel Yell set.
