Pick ups for a Gibson SG - Metal Drop C - Advice please!
« on: March 13, 2012, 10:30:44 AM »

Hello all,

Just looking for a bit of advice from anyone that has put BKP's in a Gibson SG...

At the moment i'm looking at the Aftermath or Painkiller for the bridge, and a Cold Sweat / Aftermath (n) for the neck.

I'm mostly looking for this to be a metal based guitar, but obviously any added versatility is a bonus. Has anyone experimented with these or any other BKP's in this guitar? Anyone find anything that fit especially well?

I currently have stock PUP's in it, I believe they are 490T/R's... they are ok, I just can't seem to get the brutal grind that I'm after.

Looking for the August Burn's Red / Kill switch Engaged sort of sound. I'm currently playing through a Blackstar HT5 + an Orange 112... if that makes any difference

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

:)
