I will follow up this post with more details.  I need to play with this amp, its quite different than what I am use to, and I love so far.

Mike added a Depth knob, and a frequency shift toggle (2 way). Then he also modified the power section, pre-amp section, and the boost section of the amp. I believe that he changed the voicing of the gain structure. It sounds really killer, and you can get quite an array of different tones. Pretty awesome really. I can't decide on a dedicated setting, so I assume that I will use what ever I feel like in the moment. I don't think I will ever need an overdrive pedal  . Its got that worked out, plus you don't loose any of the low end.

what does the frequency shift do to the sound?

It shifts the Mids.  With the toggle down, it shifts the tone to low mids.  With the toggle up, it shifts the tone to High mids.  The up position is kind of like a TubeScreamer, with out loosing the low end.  The boost/beast switch boost the gain and the attack.  If the boost mode is off, it has a dry tone.  With the boost mode on, it becomes more wet or saturated. You can use the assault knob to control how saturated you want the sound to be.  If you have the power amp up pretty high, along with the assault knob, you can get some doom-metal type gains.  This amp has bag of tricks, for sure.  Really enjoying it.

It is allot of fun, and I am quite happy, as there is only one of these made.  It wasn't cheap, but then again, any piece of really good gear is going to cost you.  If you play all the time, and it is your greatest passion, there isn't really a thing as expensive.  I always aim for long term goals, and I break prices down by dividing them by the days in a year.  After you do the math, the cost per day in the year for a good piece of gear seems pretty affordable.

Time to refresh old thread....

This clip makes me think about moding my 2203 KK head... ...DoomBuggi,from your descriptions looks like he totaly changed beast function and now it works more like built in tubescreamer or clean boost which doesn´t change eq curve but just ads saturation...I was thinking about that feature just before I got info about your mod...Depth mod is cool feature too...Need to find someone who can do it here in Europe... :guitar4:
have CWP,MM...had AM,CS,VHII,NB,PK,HD...
