Strat neck pick pick up for my tele--cs69 equivelant
« on: March 21, 2012, 12:19:38 AM »
I have a squier cv50 telecaster which ive fitted blackguard 55 stagger pick ups to and it sounds awesome (pure Jim Campilongo).......however, due to a recent financial crisis, i`m having to sell some of my guitars and primarily my strat fitted with fender cs69 pick ups which i love and am looking to make my tele my versatile go to gigging instrument as this is my fave guitar even though its the cheapest! This will be like Jon Heringtons tele (Steely Dan)-see attached pic.  I`m looking to replicate the cs69 sound in the neck and mid and i know the obvious choice is the MOTHERS MILK but ive read these have more midrange than the Fenders which i definitely dont want so another option is the PAT PEND 63 VENEER --can somebody help me out? I do actually really like the 55 blackguard neck pick up so would like strat one to sound very similar to this (replacing this more for aesthetic reasons to match the strat mid pick up i`ll be installing)
Basically, sounds im shooting for: Shine on Gilmour sound, John Mayer,
Options: 63 pat pend, Mothers milk, Sultans
