Help choosing between Cold Sweat and Miracle Man for basswood

i just got a UV7BK (basswood body, one piece maple neck, rosewood fretboard, bolt on neck) and i cant quite decide between these two pickups, they both sound like they would suit my needs

i already have a miracle man set in my RG7620, which is pretty much the exact same specs as listed above, and i do love it, but since i have a very similar guitar tonally, i was thinking about trying something else out, which lead me to the cold sweat

the only problem is, i dont want to buy a 300$ pickup set and end up disliking it, so i want some help on deciding which set is better for me: do i try something new and have another good wood+pickup combo or do i go with i know i will i like and have another basswood/maple/rosewood+MM7 combo?

i love the tone of spawn of possessions new album incurso, which is a tad on the thinner side of things, but i like how crystal clear every note is; i play music very very similar and i want to have that kind of clarity

i tend to go a little light with the gain (usually between 40-60%) because i strive for maximum note separation and clarity since my music is very busy and layered and i want every note to be audible

the miracle man set is great, but it is a bit too compressed; the cold sweat sounds like it will be more open and clear sounding, but i dont want it to end up being too thin in the end

please give me advice and anyone who can compare these pickups, please do so

I owned the CS and the MM along with some others in basswood and my opinion is that the CS is more mid scooped, has a very clear and articulate treble and will have less low-end bass oomph then the MM. The CS is less compressed then the MM but for my guitar at least it didn't have enough oomph and that was why i don't use it. Sounded awesome otherwise though.

I think another pickup you should look at is the Ceramic NB if you like the ceramic sound. It's like the CS but it's a little heavier, less mid scooped and has a big and open top end. No personal experience though.

thanks man; im sooo close to getting a CS set, but i still feel i need a little more closure

this post certainly helped though; do you think the CS could get a little more oomph by increasing the lo mids on the amp or something?  or increasing the gain a little bit?  instead of using say 50% gain, turn it up to 60%?

I have no idea if that would work since i don't own your amp lol.

Personally I think since you own a 7 string and that's what you're going for it'll be fine. If you don't have the bass up to max you can always turn that up a bit lol. Only my opinion though  :?

that tone is pretty good, i definitely like it

and it does sound pretty brutal too for being as low output as it is

and now that i think about it, i do like my aftermath set a little more than my miracle man set; mainly because of the lower output of the aftermath; it just seems to have a little more note separation

the only thing i dont like about the aftermath is the fact that it can be a little "squeaky" at times

Well maybe if your looking at lower output for separation you should maybe take a look at some of the lower output BKP's like the mule, riff raff or the emerald. 

The mule has a rediculously rich vibe to it. Can be thinner sounding but still VERY versatile and crunchy. And in the sound clip below Nolly's description of the emerald is "I absolutely love this pickup! Tight like a ceramic pickup, but much smoother in the extreme highs, super clear, and sounds huge!"
