Ah...
If they do, I've got some half-painted 15mm Napoleonic armies to declare!

If it's a slightly tapered shape with a curved top edge (but no "lip" in the middle), it's also Japanese but an Elitist (or Elite) model.
see, this isn't helping, I just found myself going "I wonder if I could find an Elitist on Ebay and mod it..."  :?

Mod it to a Gibson headstock shape, or just mod it generally?  Couldn't really do the former, the basic shape of (most) Elite/Elitist headstocks isn't the same as Gibson.

Yeah, they do appear on eBay, but if you're thinking about an LP or SG they don't go cheap - people know they're good, they're not "best kept secrets".

Most of the Elitists which crop up are the Casino models.

Mod it generally, modding headstocks is lame.

Maybe we should set up a project exchange - we all send our unfinished projects to another forum member and see what comes back.

Unfortunately the worst offenders appear to be Philly and myself, and we both have very different tastes.

I take a look into my crystal ball and see that we'd just keeping sending objects around until Feline, Wez, HTH, Juan or JPF gets them. Either that or Philly ends up on network television, maybe a soft news piece on hoarding or something.

Nah, I'm going for the full hour-long documentary with me in a smelly old cardigan crawling through piles of guitar parts and old issues of Guitarist.  Not expecting anything upmarket though - Five or BBC3 I expect.

Actually, sometimes I look around and think I really am heading that way....  :|

Well the first step is to admit it. The second is make a suit of armour out of Strat bodies and a neck sword to protect your treasure from the invaders. That should last an hour just getting you out of the house. I'm seeing a mini-series here.
"On the next installment of PhillyQ, we've set up a very nice Marshall stack and a Les Paul across the street to try and lure him out. Will he take the bait or just yell out the window that the guitar is too damn heavy but P90s would look alright? You'll have to tune in to find out."
