Ah, the very thing I've been thinking about! A bolt-on LP, and those woods loke GREAT.

I love the LP tone, but I also love the variety of Fender tones. I don't like TOO much midrange honk, which some Les pauls have. I'm after a different thick tone, with some airyness and still a very firm midrange. I'd guess that that's where the chambering also helps.

And why bolt-on? For a while now I've thought that the marriage of telecaster punch and LP thickness would absolutely rule. Hence, a tele on steroids -> a bolt-on LP. Now the neck for me would be different matter. I would (or probably in the future, WILL) most likely choose a mahogany neck with a rw fretboard, but 25.5 inch scale lenght.

After saying that, the LP scale lenght and/or maple as a neck material would be under consideration too.

I do actually have an LP body and neck in my Warmoth parts collection.

But it's a flat-top, swamp ash body and maple/rosewood neck so it won't really have any LP-like qualities.  It'll just be a Tele (or hardtail Strat) in an LP shape.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Well just weighing up all options at the moment. Been planning a custom build for the last 6months. I'm kind of treating it like a tattoo, if I still like it in a few months, then I know it's for keeps. I've seen that Les Paul on the Warmoth site for a few months now, and I keep returning to ot. I just love the look of Makore. I'm also weighing up price, import fees, tax, delivery etc. At the moment the Warmoth price is between £1100 and £1300 with hardware, so I'm contemplating whether to just get the exact same guitar and colour built by a luthier, but with set or neck thru design. That would set me back another £500, but it would mean I get the pick of the crop regarding woods, and I can also have a 3 or 5 pieceneck for added stability. I'm just looking round for quotes at the moment. It's like a life and death situation this, trying to build my dream guitar haha
