P90s for hardcore punk/powerviolence
« on: April 11, 2012, 09:04:57 PM »
Hi all, I'm looking to replace the pickups in my Univox Hi-Flier. I don't know too much about the guitar itself but I think it's from the 70s and might be made of poplar. I play punk similar to Infest, Trash Talk, and old Ceremony. I think I've narrowed it down to the Nantucket and the Supermassive. If anyone has any opinions please share. Keep in mind I'm not looking for death metal tones or anything like that. Below is a link to my band's demo (recorded with a tele thru a jcm800 & plexi). Thank you.

I would take the Supermassive for this kind of music. If you don't need all the power, roll the the vol.knob a bit down.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

I think the Supermassive would be the right call for your needs, it should be just the ticket

Has anyone compared the Supermassive & the Stockholm? How much hotter is the Stockholm? Thanks.

Yes, and it is pretty much the greatest thing ever, if you're into angry music.
