When I was looking at 50w and 100w heads, I tried / watched demos of most things out there. All the Diezels I saw were darker sounding than the VHT / Fryette stuff, and I much preferred the Fryette sound to the Diezel. What I like about the Fryettes is something that someone here told me (and found it to be true), is that the Fryette "sound" is quite accurate and "unforgiving", very clear even in the distorted channels. You ring out a chord and you can hear each individual note even on high-gain / lead settings. I found all the Diezel stuff to be quite muddy in comparison.
