And it was intended as an observation about/against me rather than the owners/GAS-ers of these.
Nothing against the idea of them as guitars, or other folks liking them (and after x years I still can't quite believe that Roo is actually
that anti- the tele and its users), but the image really doesn't grab me. So, yeah, I think it's true, if I were auditioning a guitarist for an act I was in (and in control of, obviously!!), the image is important and would probably put me off, they'd have to add a whole lot more to the party to get over the initial "oh..." :lol:
Think of it as an illustration of the epic fail I was feeling watching this particular thread (after many others over time). Look at it this way - there's loads of you who have quite common tastes with me,
except you all dig these... so I've been spending all this time watching threads with them in, trying to get into them. But this thread I've suddenly realised I can't, and that means I can't share in the general enthusiasm. I found that a bit sad (for me) and the "wouldn't get the job" story is there to show just how badly I can't get into them.
No there's no actual Roo-ness here, but what I'm trying to express probably doesn't come across right in a post! :lol: (So maybe we've been misunderstanding Roo? :? ....nah :lol:)
