Abraxas is one of those pickups I've always wanted to try but never actually done so; in my case I've gone with the Holydiver instead. I can tell you that the Holydiver is extremely versatile and I'd say it's even the most versatile pickup I've ever tried and I've tried or owned a number of them including a Nailbomb that is often described as highly versatile. At the moment I have a Holydiver in a Jackson SL3 and I'm about to order another one for a PRS SE Custom 24. I seriously looked at an Abraxas set for the PRS but when I talked to Tim he said a better option would be a Holydiver bridge and an Emerald neck as it would give me a huge range of tones and was a combination that is one of his favourites.

@ PhilKing: Nice piece of music ! (sounds for me like a mixture of heavy sounding Jethro Tull, Rainbow resp. Blackmore and Dio ).

@ all: Thanks a lot for your tips !
Think that I will consult my pillow and either go for abraxas (complete set) or holydiver bridge with emerald neck !

both should sound amazing
in fact, any BK humbucker sounds amazing in les pauls and PRS's

just figure out if you prefer and airy and bright tone Bonamassa-like tone or a Doug Aldrich heavier middy tone expect a
Peavey amps are quite middy and dense sounding, so maybe the Abraxas is in fact a better match, but that really depends on what you're after
the Diver sounds amazing through the 5150 and the Peavey Rockmaster preamp I had (which is pretty much a higher gain PV Classic with an active EQ)
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

I'm not sure it's a wise idea to buy pickups based on the amp you're using at the time as in my experience, the pickups will be a part of your rig longer than any amp. Maybe that's just me  :?

This.
+ Many people use multiple amps and people use many different pickups too. It will all sound good and you can always just do a bit if EQing to compensate.

first impressions with your current main amp > any future possibilities

perception changes, tastes change, style changes, needs change
