BKP in my Carvin! halp plox<3
« on: May 21, 2012, 09:41:37 PM »
Hey guys! So I just ordered my Carvin DC700!

It has a burled maple top on the body and headstock with a flamed maple neck through and a flamed maple neckboard.  (a hellllotta maple I realize) and Ash wings.

I play technical death metal and I'm looking for a pup that responds will to this amount of maple and the ash wings.

lemme know what you guys recommend!

I should also mention that it is a neck through. What makes you say those two models??

Maple and Ash are very bright (and the exact woods I'd choose for a Carvin or any other Custom, natch), so the C-pig is definitely the choice I'd go for. Maybe even an A-pig, if you want a bit more warmth.

I already own a MM in my 6 string and its great but i wished that it pushed a little more..

and Loomer thanks for the thoughts. I have had my eye on the C-pig a bit and I'm hoping that it will have enough output for my style while still retaining the Clarity that I'm looking for

With the piggies, the LAST thing you'll need to worry about is having enough output, trust me

That said, I definitely feel the C-pig has more than enough clarity for the brutal stuff, if you want your playing to show through which I imagine is a factor. It is techdeath after all, you know..

In any case, I have to dial in the mud and flub from my rig when I want that. The pickup can't really do that naturally.
