Love him or loathe him Mr. Chappers seems to be doing pretty well for himself. I personally dont mind him and he's a good player but I would say how on earth does he warrant a signature amp he's not exactly what you would call an 'A' lister. I can see from the amp guy's view though it's great exposure due to Chapper's Youtube exploits. Just my 2 pence worth. Sorry no hijack intended :)

I feel like its more of a one off custom. Like you could get from JPF, or MJW, or HTH. Only because it's his it's now a signature amp, but I also feel like Chappers decided that was the case and Martin Kidd like you say, is along for the exposure. As for his playing, granted he's better than me, but a wise man once said "You might have a little bit of lightning in you, but you're missing everything else". You say tomato I say... whatever.

Best thing about this thread - it made me plug in my Mk50H again after quite a while collecting dust.

DANG.

What an amazing lead tone!!!

I like it more than what I hear from those clips. In the clips it sounds like between Cornford and Diezel, lost some of that 80s goodness the Cornfords have.

I can't make my mind up whether or not I like it from that clip and although Cornford appears to have run it's course I've yet to find another amp to mkae me want to sell my old MK50. It does worry me that if and when my amps (MK and Hurricane) do break down I'm going to struggle to get them fixed for a reasonable price as Cornford won't release any schematics to help amp techs  :(

Still, I wish Martin Kidd well in his new venture.

I don't think there'll be much of an issue. It's very clear inside, if something would break, it would likely be the big filter caps that need replacement after 10 years or so. No big deal (however that trio of caps tied together with cable tie and glued to the chassis inside - yuck). Unless you mess up and blow the transformers. But I'm sure Martin Kidd could fix you up - even as Olympic amps.

I've fixed several Cornford amps, and have done so without a schematic.

Whilst I really don't see the point of withholding schematics, Cornford amps are relatively simple so any competent tech should be able to work on them.

Great to know, thanks for that! You may well be my first port of call if that's ok?
