Thanks to Twinfan, I have added four sets of pickups to the parts mountain under my bed.   :P

(All obtained at very reasonable prices, I must add!  And one set was for free, most kindly.  :)  )
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Will anyone be surprised?

I do know exactly where the Cold Sweats and TV Classics are going.... it's just a matter of getting round to it.

The Squier/Tonerider Tele pickups will end up in one of my Warmoth projects, almost certainly.

The Emeralds.... still looking for a home, mostly because I insist the guitar must have gold hardware.  Constantly pondering that one!

If you ever want to sell the Emeralds I may be interested as I'm thinking about taking the RYs out of my Tokai Love Rock with gold hardware

I'll let you know, but as of now I'm planning to keep them!  I have a couple of ideas, but they involve spending money unfortunately!

Despite all this good will to him Dave can improve on his performance though. He drove me to Guitar Village a few months back but didn't buy me anything!

Dave - that sh!tty 70s strat we saw with the plasticised body. It sold:

10.2lbs as well. HEFTY!!!!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Oi Ian, what you saying about my Strat???!!!

But seriously.....

A 10 pound Strat?  Ouch!!  :x

I like the Antigua finish, but all those bits of flaking paint look nasty.  And what the hell is going on with the neck finish, especially between the 6th and 7th frets?  :?

I really wouldn't have had the balls to sell that one if it was my shop! It looked absolutely terrible in the flesh. |I think the finish on the neck had been custom designed by a previous owner.

I'd find that weight heavy for an LP type let alone a strat!!

I don't think it's unusual for those '70s ash Strats to be that kind of weight.  Sadly!

Of course, to be fair it wasn't just bad quality control, the theory at the time was "the heavier the better" in terms of sustain etc.  Hence all those Yamaha SGs and things with really heavy brass hardware.

T'would be churlish of me not to join in the general good feeling of the "we love Twinfan" thread so here I am. Blimey a 10lb Strat? Mine is a 1970's Strat and is just right but the finish was never top notch and happily the heavy usage over the years has taken the emphasis off the poor workmanship in the upper horn.

"sigh" ok, i'll join in too.  i have a lovely little Squier telecaster, modded to esquire specs, a Martamp Orion (the very first one made!), and a very special Gibson SG  that came from Dave.  he was a pleasure to deal with.

it seems half the forum have populated their collections with Dave's cast-offs!  :)
