The past few weeks I've been putting together a track based off of/covering "Suicide Mission" from the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack. And after finanlly getting my Kontakt factory selection and Steven Slate drums working again after a virus ruined everything, I've got a recording!
http://soundcloud.com/lyonk/suicide-mission-coverMost of this is the AV Nailbomb in the bridge of my Tanglewood Les Paulalike, with the softer lead bits and left channel cleans being the neck Cold Sweat and the middle position for the right cleans. All with my Engl Screamer combo, into an AKG D770 mic and POD Farm's noise gate and preamps (modern for most, vintage for softer lead and none for cleans). Cleans also have my Boss CH1 pedal and both cleans and leads use the Engl's reverb.
Bass comes from my Ibanez BTB755 into POD Farm's Ampeg model and a direct recording.
Excuse the kinda rubbish strings and piano, it's just the free Kotakt stuff I have.
Drums are a mix of various Steven Slate pieces.
Let me know what you guys think! :D
