Boss noise surpressor pedal
« on: June 14, 2012, 10:43:50 PM »
Has anyone tried one of these? I'm running a rig that includes putting an ES335 through high gain - the feedback is controllable when using the amp's overdrive pedal but as soon as I stomp on a pedal for a gain boost I unleash screechy hell. I'm guessing that putting a noise pedal in the chain after the distortion pedal may fix this.

Your thoughts are most welcome.

Mike.

Its kind of a "lite" noisegate.

It does cut noise but still leaves a good amount but it doesn't screw with your tone too much unless you use it in the loop when the loop is +4dB...

I quite liked it. If you can get one cheap id go for it

I was never into the Boss NS. Or Boss pedals in general. I think there are definitely better options out there. Obviously the ISP Decimator, a Rocktron of some sort, MXR makes a few good ones, etc. Just not a big Boss fan  so I'm a bit biased.

Not tried a Boss, but the ISP Decimator is a superb piece of kit.
