After a while scratting about with me eggle, I've decided i need some more switching options. All my fenders in the past have had some kind of rewiring done to them, so I figure I can handle the wiring end of things. The problem is thatI don't have a pickguard anymore, and so I'm gonna need some advice.

Is there any such thing as a five way les paul style toggle switch? or am I going to have to go rotary on this one?

I plan to have the current bridge-parralel mix-neck options supplemented by a series mix and possibly an out of phase mix as well. I'm also replacing the existing master vol/ master tone arrangment with stacking pots to give a separate volule and tone for each pickup....

Any thoughts/ knowledge to impart, you wise, wise people??

Apart from silly grins at the thought of two BKP-90's in series??

No 5-way LP. the best way is to use push pull pots, however if you are going to use stacked pots this option isn't open to you. You can get a 5 way 4 pole rotary switch that can do what you want. Check out http://www.guitarelectronics.com for some neat options with it (look at the single humbucker with 5 sounds!)

I love the guitar electronics web site. There'e tons of good stuff on there. I must admit the 2 humbuckers with 21 sounds is sick, in a good way.

There are some nice wiring diagrams at neal moser's site that include a rotary switch (and everything else you can imagine). Hope it helps.

how about compromising a little, a stacked knob for either two volumes or tones, whichever is more important to you, and a push/pull for either series/parallel or out of phase? it is possible to put too many options on a guitar and end up with an overly fiddly machine with twenty sounds, but only about three you actually use. actually, can you put single coils really out of phase, or is my morning after head obscuring something :roll: ?

Don't know if it's definitley out of phase as such, but I did follow a faq once to put an out of phase sound on an old sqiuer tele. It gives a weird thin sound that would be perfect for ripping out East Bay Ray type of stuff. As for hw out of phase it really is, I couldn't tell ye. I think a push-pull and a stack ppot may be the best plan, altough I'm considering a wee DIP switch on the back panel for the series-parallel/ In-out phase option. This wouldn't affect the look of the guitar and would be both hard to accidentally shift and easy to access.
