Jensen MOD series speakers
« on: June 23, 2012, 02:23:57 PM »
Anyone got any experience with using these?

I was thinking of either the MOD 12-35 or MOD 12-50 to replace the stock speaker in a Kustom 1x12 cabinet, but the reviews I have found seem pretty mixed. Some say that they have a balanced neutral sound, while others seem to think they are very bright (despite being described by Jensen as having "low end focus.")

Jensen are without doubt one the best speakers on the market, it depends what kind of sound you are after?

I've recently changed some speakers and found this test really usefull:

I have a pair of Mod 70's in my Marshall 2 x 12. They're fairly neutral speakers with maybe a touch more middle. They can handle a lot of power from my 120 watt power amp. They seem like very good speakers though I'd have to say Celestion G12K-100's and Eminence Super V12's are my favorite speakers.

Personally, I find them bright - just not as bright as Jensen's American replicas (kind of a Britished American if that makes sense).  Still I like that sound.
