Insulating tape on Nailbombs
« on: June 24, 2012, 11:26:07 PM »
The insulating tape wrapped around my nailbombs is a bit obtrusive. It would be ok if the tape followed the shape of the coils, but the bit which is stretched between the coils makes it squarer and difficult to fit with my new pickguard.

Is it safe to remove it and re-wrap it closer to the coils, or is this a really bad idea??

I would take some sand paper, or a file to the pickguard.  If you tamper with the pickup, and something goes wrong, it will void the warranty, and then you would be shite out of luck, and have to buy a new pickup.

Thanks.

That's what I did for my first pickguard, pretty ugly results though.

Any suggestions if that isn't an option?

maybe take some pictures of it and send it to BKP, they may be ready to help.
