OK,
will not bore you as most know my situation by now (living in Texas but moving back to UK).
Well, have a Godlyke power adaptor ready for my HBE Big D when it arrives BUT, just bought a Boss GT8 processor unit. Did'nt check on this and it runs on 14volts dc 800mA. It currently runs 120v 35W 60Hz in and 14volts 800mA out (from adaptor).
I will call Boss/Roland if necessary but does anyone know of a good adaptor to run this in UK (like Godlyke)?

Cheers,

Nick

LOL
looks like one don't he.

Actually he's a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.

My folks always had long coated German Shepards but don't have the room for one here.
Murphy is gonna be about 35lbs and up to knee high. He is ALL energy, just turned 1 year old, and my BEST buddy. He NEVER leaves my side.
His breed is Irish (hence his name) so he is kinda going "home" lol. Dunno what he will think about a 9hr plane flight though poor thing. Still, with all I am doing now (puppy passport) he will NOT have to go through quarantine. In fact his "puppy passport" is being used for our timeline to move over.

yeah, damn odd voltage too. Still guess this thing is basically a full processor/computer so is hungrier than a pedal lol.
Sent email to Godlyke but they have nothing on their site. Will call Boss/Roland eventually I guess. They MUST have them as GT8 is sold in UK. Just original is not always the best/most cost effective option. It was mentioned elsewhere that a guy was using a electric shaver transformer but I know this GT8 does alot but don't think it will shave me LOL.

well its a complicated thingy and like you said it does a lot! i could always ask my teacher for you if you want and see what he uses...

p.s who knows maybe it has a built in 'razor' effect...

Are GT-8's good for running into a clean valve amp or will they colour the natural tone too much?

Also your dog rocks I love dogs like that, we've got a retriever  :D

hey Tom
I only got it yesterday evening and it is a STEEP learning curve.
I believe it is as good as they get in multi/processor type things unless you wanna pay 1,000's.

It has so many settings it's unreal.
A cool thing (big sell for Boss) is you can set channel changing or effect changing by guitar volume or more over "pick attack".
You can set any head to any cab then set a mic in different places on the cab and at different distances (told you it is complex).
Bear in mind my trials and tribulations before (with moving home to UK) so only have a Microcube lol.
However, first thing you do when setting this thing up for first time is input the device (amp, cab, mixing desk, etc.) you are going into so it can assign the correct output.

I cannot comment really but thus far I do believe it's the "dog's dangly bits" LOL

Remember, it is CMOS so is digital, not a valve pedal. That being said it should not influence tone/sound anymore than a non-valve pedal and I would hazard a guess alot less. I am impressed with the build and array of this thing.

I have been scoping GTCentral (GT6/8) user group and they post patches. Also a free patch editor. It has a midi out you see so can be connected to a pc (amongst other things) to record etc.

Sorry could'nt help more.

Nick

HAHA!

lol yer the gt-8's are just truly amazing... dunno if you've checked this out yet nick but theres an effect which plays whatever your playing an octave down as well as where it is normally- its so cool- like hearing a guitar and a bass playing together. i think thats how whats-his-name from white stripes plays seven nation army- a guitar part and then a bassy part created just by playing the guitary part if you see what i mean...

Sam, yeah read about it but to be honest not got much past plugging it in yet lol. Too much to read. Have noodled around though, can get some VICIOUS sounds from it. Can only imagine what it will be like through an amp and not my micro"pube" lol.

haha micro 'pube' lol...

yer i cant begin to imagine how complicated it is... its got like a trillion buttons and like 7 pedals or something... anyway good luck with it i bet you'll have loads of fun with it when you figure out how to use it lol.

p.s ill ask my teacher on sat what he uses for his one and whether he knows where to get one. chances are his is just a power supply that came with it but it's worth a try.

haha ok it does sound complex, but good. I'd just like to know if it will colour the natural valve tone that I get from my fenders clean channel too much, so if anyone else has one let me know  :D My mates boss ME-50 doesnt really impress me to be honest but thats a cheap toy compared to the GT-8 it seems
