i dont think it colours it too much... i dont want to keep ranting on about my teacher lol but he uses his through some marshall half-stack (a solid-state on though i think) and it sounds killer... i'll ask him whether it affects valve sound much or not on sat. i know he's got a peavey classic 30 or 50 so we could test it through that...

OK, still VERY raw learner here, but got pretty good with GnR version of Hair of the Dog (Nazerath) inc. voicebox effect using pedal. THIS THING ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got one of the old GT-5's that I've used for at least 8-9 years.  It's been gigged all over the place and apart from having to replace the power cable once it's been flawless.  I used to use it as my preamp and run it straight into my 9100 stereo valve power amp.  But the amp modelling sounds pretty rubbish compared to modern standards so I eventually shelled out for a JMP-1.

You can spend hours tinkering with sounds and not playing anything though.

Sam, not that I am homophobic or anything but will have to pass on that invite

Yeah Muttley, precisely, BUT I reckon if ya spend the time to really learn it, well, could be a wonderful tool for a guitarist. I am smiling BIG and I am just fiddling with it

Oh, yeah.  You can get some freaky-weird sounds out of them.  :)

The weird synthy sounds on the beginning of these demo track of my old band was the GT-5: BushPilots - Time to Stand and Stay Away

Damn, that was about 7 years ago now.   :o

nick would you ever consider doing that- bringing an item over here for someone (that they reimbursed you for obviously)???  :D  :P

p.s muttley that effect at the beginning is class! so is the rest of the song as well lol..!

not so sure about the vocals though  :?
bush pilots is a great name btw!

also- just listened to the second song- even better effect at the beginning- vocals are starting to grow on me now...
