Buy a super-shielded power board. Something really expensive by Monster should do the trick. Also, buy decent guitar cables--Monster, Planet Waves, Spectraflex, etc.

You could try a power conditioner. I've been reading good reviews about the Furman Plus-8 (I think, this is all from memory). I'm thinking about getting one. I protects your amps from electrical noise and bad plugs.

Plus they seem to be going down in price.

ok cheers guys, ill check out that furman thing and a power board...

for now ill just have to put up with it though. good thing is its not bad at all in our band 'shed' so it wont effect us practising....
