Use of Graphic EQ
« on: July 08, 2012, 03:20:20 PM »
I'm thinking of using my GE7 to cut some frequencies a little. Where would you put it and why ? Between guitar and amp or in the loop ?

People do it either way, I always use pedals up front though.

I'd put it wherever I thought it sounded best! Try both and see what you think!
I think I hate being indecisive.

These EQ pedals are SO versatile, you can use it anywhere. It matters what you're using it as.

My EQ works much better in the loop, but It might be different for your amp.

I'd agree with the above-i.e. wherever it sounds best but in my experience, into the front of the amp meets that criteria. For me, that worked best because I was working with the overall sound that my amp produced and the eq was very effective in getting me the tones that I wanted.

I either use the toneknob on het guitar to control the treble and/or adjust the amps-eq. Never felt the need of an eq.
