By the sound of it, you will be doing so as an even better player than you were before.  It certainly shows you have evolved - and that the old limitations are ready to be exceeded, and then some.  Keep the engine running ...

That's a pity, but not always the best player gets the job. Don't worry, your project is on it's way. Things that happen in life often have a reason. The next project might fit you way better. At least you don't have to play "Have i told you lately" anymore...
