18v Green Rhino

Does anyone know if it's safe to run the Way Huge Green Rhino at 18v? It says +9vDC over the input and the manual says 9v but will I harm the pedal if I use 18v?

Without seeing the schematic it's tough to say, but if its using a transistor-based overdrive circuit, it may not sound 'right' as the biasing will be off.

What are you hoping to get from running it at 18v?

And even then - the schematic rarely says what maximum voltage the caps used can stand...

but if its using a transistor-based overdrive circuit, it may not sound 'right' as the biasing will be off.

IIRC it's a TS knockoff so this shouldn't be much of a problem - but I've not seen the schematics neither so don't take me on words on this.

The usual suspect is "more dynamic", and that's indeed the case for my own TS knockoff (hwich has been designed for it).

Well it sounds clearer to me running on 18v. Might just be in my head but who knows. I've run it for over an hour at a time at 18v and nothing has happened I just wanted to make sure. I'll look into it some more.

If you've already been running it for an hour and it still works, you'll be fine.  Caps tend to blow quickly once their voltage rating is exceeded.
