Dog ear P90 mounting screws
« on: July 26, 2012, 10:40:10 AM »
Does anyone know a source of these? I've searched in the usual places but maybe I'm missing the obvious here!

Thanks, G

Good question!  I think it's a rare case where you don't actually need specialised screws, any regular wood screw of approximately the right size will do fine.

Because I couldn't find any dog-ear screws as such, I bought some of these although really they're unnecessarily long:

not a bad idea, although the ones I have are all countersunk, and the dogear cover I have isn't countersunk. no idea whats usual for the dogear covers.

went to the DIY shop at lunchtime, though the wood screw they had were all too large

hmm, cant remember if the covers i had were countersunk.  i dont think they are usually.  I cant remember having to do anything last time i used them but i wouldnt be shy about countersinking them gently by hand if needed

no idea whats usual for the dogear covers.

They're normally round-headed screws, and the holes in the covers aren't countersunk, so there's actually leeway to move the pickup around a little if you slacken the screws.

But as I say, I don't think it really matters much in this case.
